The Shure SE310 Sound Isolating Earphones are very impressive. In fact, the entire E series is impressive, which is why Shure did not change its blueprint when it created its new Sound Isolating line, the SE series. The latest in Shure’s earphone collection offers new sound and an overall improved design. When you first look at the Shure SE310s you might not notice the design tweaks that Shure has made to the SE line. When you look a little closer you will notice that the earpiece is more curved than that of the E series. Also the material is slightly different, which gives you a more tactile feel. These SE310s come in two different colors – black or white. The white model is more silver than white. These are subtle changes but very welcome.
The Shure SE310 Earphones also come with a new modular cable. The main Y cable is 18 inches long which is long enough for listeners who like to carry their MP3 players in their shirt pocket or clip it to their jeans. The Shure SE310’s also come with a 37 inch cable extension. The SE310’s Deluxe Fit Kit comes with a sturdy canvas case , a wax guard for cleaning the earpieces, several ear tips: one triple flange, three sizes of soft flex, and three sizes of foam. These are built for an easier fit, coated for easier cleaning, and black rather than yellow.

did a lot of research leading up to my purchase of the Shure SE310’s. I had high hopes when I listened to them for the first time. But they seemed to be lacking in the bass department. Other than that they had really clean audio and sounded spectacular. Upon researching why they lacked bass, I discovered many peoples’ claim of a break in period before the earbuds got loosened up and provided more bass. And over time I have noticed this to be true to a certain extent. I had an old pair of $40 Sony sound isolating earbuds which had a ton of bass, and when I first listened to the Shure’s I thought they sounded weak, but now after listening to the SE310’s for about a month, I can say they definitely sound better than the Sony’s.

Disappointed in the power handling of these earphones. The sound quality is very good, you can hear all the details of the music, and the isolation from outside noise is also very good with the foam plugs. I bought these to drown out the wind noise on my motorcycle, and they work well for that. However, when I turned up my mp3 player to 75% volume, the left earphone was damaged.
